CEP1006 Fuel Switching module

Fuel Switching self-directed online training

Fuel switching is one of the most practical and immediate ways to reduce emissions – by transitioning systems and processes to lower-carbon energy sources. Our self-directed module on Fuel Switching explores how this approach can be applied across the major emitting sectors of New Zealand’s economy, including transport (at a high level), buildings, industry and process heat.

From converting coal boilers to electric or biomass systems, to exploring emerging technologies, this module covers key opportunities across:

  • Transport (NZ context)
  • Buildings and homes
  • Industry and process heat
  • Electricity, biomass, geothermal and hybrid solutions

Self-directed Module

  • Complete at your own pace – when it suits
  • 3 hours total video duration
  • 3 CPD points (CEP Framework)
  • Completion certificate avaliable

Special Shaping Excellence Programme Offer
We’re offering a limited number of places in our Shaping Excellence Feedback Programme, where you can access this module at a significantly reduced rate: $200+GST (normally $560+GST)

In return, participants will:

  • Provide structured feedback throughout
  • Complete the module within 3 months
  • Join a feedback focus group in Q2 2026

This is a great opportunity to save on professional development, while helping shape the future of carbon and energy industry training.
