Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Energy Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in analysing time-of-use utility data and interpreting alerts generated by our machine learning engine. This position is a unique blend of engineering, data analytics, and customer service, aimed at translating complex data into actionable insights for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Data Analysis:
    • Analyze time-of-use utility data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for energy efficiency improvements.
    • Interpret and respond to alerts generated by our machine learning engine, determining their relevance and potential impact.
    • Utilize data visualization tools to present findings in a clear and understandable manner.
  2. Technical Support:
    • Collaborate with the engineering team to understand the technical aspects of energy systems and their performance.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of analytical models to enhance data interpretation and insight generation.
  3. Client Engagement:
    • Communicate findings and recommendations to clients in a clear, professional, and actionable manner.
    • Provide ongoing support to clients, answering questions and offering guidance on energy efficiency measures.
    • Prepare and deliver reports and presentations to clients, highlighting key insights and potential actions.
  4. Continuous Improvement:
    • Machine Learning training will be provided by our Principal Machine Learning Engineer
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in energy management, data analytics, and machine learning.
    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our data analytics processes and tools.
  5. Contribution to the Fight Against Climate Change:
    • In this role, you will directly contribute to our mission of helping organizations reduce their carbon emissions. By ensuring our software operates smoothly and efficiently, you will enable our clients to effectively measure, manage, and reduce their energy consumption and carbon footprint. Your efforts will support global environmental sustainability and the fight against climate change.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and programming languages (e.g., Python, R) is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Passion for energy efficiency and sustainability.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with carbon accounting or sustainability-related software.
  • Experience working in the energy or utilities industry.
