CEP Conference Keynote
European Heavyweight Keynote for CEP Conference 2026
We’re excited to announce the first keynote speaker for the CEP Conference in Hamilton this May – and he’s a European Heavyweight. Mike Umiker, Managing Director of the Energy Efficiency Movement, will be joining us from Europe to share global best practice in industrial energy efficiency and energy productivity.
The Energy Efficiency Movement is a global initiative led by European powerhouses ABB and Alfa Laval, working closely with the International Energy Agency (IEA). Its mission is simple but powerful: to bring large industrial companies together to collaborate, innovate and accelerate energy efficiency – the world’s most cost-effective and immediately available energy solution.
Like New Zealand, Europe is facing significant energy challenges, including supply constraints and rising costs – particularly around gas. In response, leading organisations are prioritising efficiency as the “first fuel” and rethinking how energy is used across industrial operations. Mike will share real-world insights from organisations that are already delivering results.
With more than 15 years’ experience working on industrial energy efficiency projects, Mike is a practical, hands-on leader and a passionate advocate for action. His focus is firmly on what works – and how organisations can apply proven approaches to improve performance, resilience and competitiveness.
