Alireza holds a PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, the leading engineering institute of Iran. He is the director of PathWay2050, a company focused on helping organizations achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 through professional consultancy and developing smart and sustainable solutions. With years of experience as a lead expert for the United Nations on climate change and energy management global projects, he led KiwiRail’s infrastructure sustainability program for three years and served as a senior energy specialist in New Zealand. Alireza has extensive international experience working with commercial and industrial sectors to manage energy use and reduce emissions. He is also a certified trainer for ISO 50001, the global standard for energy management systems. Following a two-year project, his team implemented an energy management system for the first New Zealand organization to successfully achieve ISO 50001 certification in 2021. Outside of work, Alireza enjoys swimming and tramping trips.
