About the role

We are seeking a qualified and energetic Electrician to join our Energy & Services Team. This role involves conducting on-site energy audits, thermal imaging surveys, power quality audits, data logging, and metering installations. The successful candidate will also be responsible for compiling detailed technical reports and collaborating with team members to deliver energy audits and energy transition (decarbonisation) projects.

You MUST have a current electrical practicing license, with no work limitations, able to travel (up to 1-2 nights per fortnight) and based in Auckland.

What you’ll be doing

• Conducting comprehensive energy audits, electrical inspections and assessments using advanced thermal and acoustic imaging technology and power quality measurement equipment
• Identifying and resolving power quality issues, including voltage fluctuations, harmonics, and other electrical anomalies
• Installing, calibrating, and maintaining electrical metering systems to ensure accurate monitoring and billing
• Collaborating with energy engineers and other team members to undertake energy audits and energy transition (decarbonisation) projects
• Documenting all work performed and providing detailed reports to clients
• Adhering to all relevant safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment
• Continually expanding your knowledge and skills to stay up-to-date with industry best practices and new technologies

What we’re looking for

• Qualified electrician with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field
• Perform electrical thermal imaging surveys to identify potential issues in electrical systems
• Conduct power quality audits and analyse data to recommend improvements
• Install and configure electrical data loggers and metering equipment
• Compile comprehensive reports detailing findings and recommendations
• Collaborate with team members to ensure project objectives are met
• Travel to various client sites, including out-of-town assignments, as required
• A commitment to safety and a proactive approach to risk management

Requirements

• Licensed Electrician with a current practicing license in New Zealand
• Preferable some experience in thermal imaging, power quality analysis, and metering installations
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in report writing
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Willingness to travel and work on assignments outside of Auckland
• Valid New Zealand driver’s license
